Senior Data Engineer

BetterCharge is redefining how the world handles failed payments. We help merchants recover revenue lost to declined card transactions—intelligently and automatically.

As our first Senior Data Engineer, you’ll lay the foundation for our data systems. From batch pipelines to real-time decisioning, you’ll help architect and scale the infrastructure that powers our core ML engine. You'll work closely with product, data science, and engineering to build reliable, performant systems that turn massive volumes of payment data into actionable insights.

Job responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (batch and real-time)
• Own our data architecture end-to-end, from ingestion to warehousing to delivery
• Ensure data reliability, accuracy, and availability for internal and product use
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers and analysts to support model development and analytics
• Implement best practices for data security, governance, and observability
• Evaluate and integrate new tools to support data scalability and performance
• Shape the long-term data strategy and infrastructure roadmap
